Charity

There are many problems facing our local communities and the world. We feel a social responsibility and want to give something back to make a contribution for the good of our community and some of the poorest places in the world.

The charities we support outside the UK provide fresh water, give people back their sight and provide education for girls. Locally, we have donated money to Francis House Children’s Hospice in Didsbury, The Christie, Manchester Cash for Kids, Comic Relief, Beechwood Cancer Care and Once Upon a Smile.

Francis House Children's Hospice

Francis House provides care for children and young adults with life-threatening conditions. Care is offered in a comfortable home-from-home environment and families come for periods of rest and recuperation along with treatment of distressing symptoms, end of life care and support.

Children in Need and Sport Relief

We find lots of fun ways to get involved with Children in Need and Sport Relief each year – whether taking part in a sponsored run or dressing up and being silly, we’re serious about doing our bit.

The Christie Charity

The Christie Charity raises funds for cancer research and management which is outside the scope of the NHS. This helps support patients and develop new treatments.

School Kits

Providing school kits in Sudan. Basic reading writing and arithmetic are necessary for most of life’s activities. More than 115 million children across the world do not have the opportunity for this basic knowledge. Through education people can pull themselves out of poverty and provide themselves with true sustainable development.

Blindness

The major cause of blindness globally is cataract blindness and this has a profound effect on a person’s quality of life. This blindness tends to occur at an earlier age in developing countries but the majority of this blindness is easily curable through surgery. Giving back people their sight is a triumph.

Water

Water is a basic necessity of life yet many people of all ages have to travel miles to fetch unsafe drinking water, and some 2,000 children die each day from diarrhoea. Providing water pumps transforms lives by providing access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation.
